Seeking Justice After the Little River Charter Boat Shooting
We stand firmly with our client, Jeremy Evans, who was among the individuals shot during the tragic mass shooting aboard a charter boat in Little River over Memorial Day weekend. Jeremy, only 16 years old, is now recovering from surgery and beginning what will be a long journey toward healing, both physically and emotionally.
At a recent press conference, our legal team emphasized what should not be overlooked: this tragedy was preventable.
There was a clear failure in safety protocols aboard the vessel. Although some individuals were reportedly patting down guests, there was no trained security personnel on site. Alcohol was being served, yet proper ID checks were not enforced. These serious oversights created a dangerous environment that ultimately led to the violence that occurred.
We are now conducting a full independent investigation to determine all parties responsible for this failure in duty of care. Our firm will be pursuing legal action to hold those accountable who allowed this unsafe situation to unfold. We believe strongly that Jeremy, and every person on that boat, deserved better protection.
We also want to acknowledge and thank the Horry County Police Department for their swift action and ongoing investigation. Their efforts are a crucial step toward justice.
This case is about more than a single tragic event. It’s about standing up for public safety, demanding responsible practices, and making sure those in positions of authority and responsibility are held to account.
Our commitment remains with Jeremy, his family, and everyone affected by this senseless act of violence. We will continue to fight for accountability, justice, and change.
If you or someone you know has information related to this incident, we urge you to come forward. Every voice matters in the pursuit of truth.
